Bally's

So today was my first work out at Bally's (as a part of their free two week guest pass) It was good. I'm not 100% into the Sheepshead Bay location, but when I see how cheap it is, it really makes me wish I hadn't spent the past two years paying $90 a month for NYSC.

There were no evening classes today, so there were random people using the studio to do random things. There was this one woman ballroom dancing, by herself, and I was insanely jealous, because she was quite beautiful, and it was obvious she had so much confidence and she was not embarrassed or self conscious in the least.

But don't let that fool you. I've seen enough old lady boobies in the locker room today to last me the rest of my life.

Black Friday

So far I have spent about $700 (a new laptop(!!!!!!) and two pairs of jeans) I am so, so excited about getting a new laptop, the one I'm using now is about 5 years old, and it's pretty outdated. I'm scared about Vista, though I know I have my XP disc somewhere so I can always reinstall that shizzle.
Hopefully later I will try out Bally's, and maybe head into park slope to get some yarn! Oh, did I mention today is payday? Hellz yes.

Have I not mentioned my Thanksgiving? Yeah. Delicious food (if I may pat myself on the back for a moment) but totally ridiculous. It's become such a non holiday for us. My mother didn't cook anything, save a piece of fish for herself, and our dinners weren't even ready at the same time so there was no eating at the table together. Oh well. Pumpkin cheesecake = new holiday staple.

Also, Steve Jobs, a $51 discount on a $1,199 iMac? Are you trying to insult us? (Don't even get me started on a $21 discount on a $399 iPod Touch...) Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

24 MPH winds coming out of the WNW

It's really cold out at 4:19am. Though, no colder then it was out at last night at 10pm. I ran all the way home from the train station (in Uggs) which was actually a great idea, though twice my knee asked me, Really? I mean, Really??

Ken has gone down south to work, and subsequently he'll be gone for Thanksgiving as well. The point nearly drains me of all the enthusiasm I had for Thanksgiving. It's not a particularly happy holiday in my house. It's just my mother and I, with all of our various desserts and vegetarian side-dishes. I guess I'll cook up some assorted turkey parts for myself. I really have nothing planned besides pumpkin cheesecake with gingersnap crust (thank Bon appetit magazine for that!)

I ate a disgusting combination of foods last night, and topped off with two Ms.Fields cookies, my stomach is not too happy.

The battery on my laptop is slowly, painfully dying on me.

True Blood really sucks.

I made a joke! But no, really, this show is terrible. I'm waiting for my rice to finish cooking, and my mother has it on.

Lady: I was broke, what was I going to do? He offered me $1,000 to bite me. What? Was I going to say no?

EErrraahhh!!

Are you OK, ok?

I think I've been asked this question at least four times this week. Kenneth is back in GA until the 13th. I think I'm handling it like a well balanced human being. (which I think surprised myself) I was feeling alright until about Thursday, when my mind said "One week! Hurray!" and now I am thinking about the 13th a lot more than I was. The lack of Bear definitely leaves a hole in my days and nights.

But, in other things. Today is a gym day (running on the treadmill, and maybe some sauna time afterwards :D) , grocery shopping/cooking, some cleaning, some knitting later, and well, who knows.

I am in no rush today, everything is being done leisurely, and for some reason I find that very comforting today.

Hello Mr.President!!

Oh. my. god. When they showed Obama projecting to win Ca and Wa, and his number jumped to 283, little tears formed in my eyes. (I am not embarrassed to admit this!) I can say, I am actually excited about a president. I am sooo soo ready for this country to move on from eight years with Bush. Now it actually feels like in a few months there might be some sort of hope for this country, the light is much nearer then we think. It's almost over!

But wait, apparently Proposition 8 in Ca was passed. Nevermind.

Regardless. Watch out D.C, there's a new(well, sort of) man in town!

Easy Mondays, gym, new knitting, and a brief vacation

Today seems like it will turn out much better then I had anticipated. I finished Monday's (very) easy NY Times crossword puzzle, and I went to the gym. Spent an hour on the elliptical machine and pretty much kicked it's ass. Okay, Okay, I'll admit it. I missed going to the gym. I think tomorrow I will try and do some running after work.

Hopefully today I will stop off at Knit NYC (my favorite knitting store) to pick up some yarn for a "Lace ribbon scarf" pattern that's on knitty.com. Then I'll go home and do massive amounts of cleaning and laundry.

Bear is gone until the 13th, and a queen sized bed just seems much, much too large for just one.
